    Default How long before...

How long before the 2nd egg hatches? The clutchmate hatched the morning of June 5. I know they can sometimes hatch a few days apart but I was just wondering when I should start to worry? The eggs were laid on April 24 and are being incubated at 87-88 degrees.

    Thanks for any input.

I would think the second egg should have hatched by now unless the first one was a little early.

So should I break the egg open or just let nature take it's course?

I think I will attempt to cut the egg tonight, because I noticed this morning a small spot of mold on it.

    Thanks for the help.

Well as I mentioned earlier the egg started to form mold on it so I decided to cut it open. So I opened the egg and it was fertile but the fetus died early on. It was only about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch long so I'd assume it died at about a week into incubation (this is just a guess). Even though it stinks that the baby didn't make it, it was still kinda neat to see what they look like at an early stage of development.

Thanks for all of the help too.

I don't meen to sound insensitive, but it's bound to happen.

By the way the fluid inside was blueish / greenish at the bottom, the fluid at the top was a white cream color. Is that normal or is that an indicator of what could have gone wrong?
