my baby corn was started on frozen so she has never known live food. she eats it like a champ and tries to "hunt" it even though it's not alive.
i used to breed dwarf hamsters and adored them but i would never feed them to a snake only for the fact that they would probably kill the snake...
we get ours those soft yellow squash and mix in some apples and carrots. she even likes cilantro better than most greens. if he doesnt pick up on the greens first try other veggies :)
he looks a little on the small side but not too bad. that looks like shed too. he might be picky about eating until he's done shedding cause they get crazy itchy ofcourse, plus relocation stress. but other than that CONGRATS ON THE BABY ^.^
haha that's the forum i go to too! and i dont think anyone really realizes how much they eat until you have one. two babies is terrible for us right now cost wise. luckily they're on a superworm spree so they've been costing a lot less. XD
one thing about the dubias. i have not personally tried them but i am on a beardie forum as well and there have been a lot of people who have young beardies who decide they no longer like roaches and then the colony goes to waste XD they're great companions though and we couldnt keep just one...
i forgot to add we purchased our first from a local pet store and he wouldn't eat for about a month straight. so we spent a few hundred at the vet on fecals and meds. he was totally worth it though. :p
having two young beardies, i can tell you they are EXPENSIVE.
you have to have a ceramic heat emitter, a basking bulb that needs replaced whenever it goes out, a reptisun 10.0 uvb TUBE bulb which needs replaced once every 6 months as stated.
as for the food, we legitimately feed our larger...
the amount it costs to feed 6 geckos a snake and 2 bearded dragons is insane. we go through about 100$ in food every 2 weeks, give or take depending on what the dragons are "in the mood for". also, i agree with the vet thing. our vet here is pretty clueless with our reptiles most of the time...
finally got my hubs to hold my baby girl. she's a snow motley corn snake and the cutest thing! he hates snakes but he's getting used to her. :p
her pic from the breeder.
& her with hubs.
well i figured i'd update you guys. bowser was doing really bad and stopped eating completely so we took him to the vet, his fecal came back negative for parasites so the doctor gave him a shot of cipro. he said he didn't think he was going to make it since he had declined so much & refused...
i've just read from some people that their lizards got sicker from the medicine. i'm not sure if he even has them but i was just looking up my options treatment wise.
