Hey everyone, just back to show everybody my pair of bold stripes a half year later. They are doing very well and both have adjusted to living around a noisy toddler and are very curious to come out to wander around. Both have willingly climbed onto my 3 year olds hands.
Right now they both...
Nov 11 update
Bandit is definitely the more aggressive one who bravely wanders out to hunt while Stripe is more reserved and I need to toss the worm inside the cave to for it to eat.
They are both eating and pooping well and growing at a fast and even pace although the gap is now starting to...
Updated weights on Oct 13
Bandit 15g
Stripe 12g
They both seem to have been growing at the same rate with a increase of 6g each over 9 days.
They have gotten used to the idea of being handled briefly after every feed as I'm cleaning the enclosures.
The patterns are continuing to break up on...
Thanks for the response!
They were both eating on their own the next day after I got them so I know they had gone through their first sheds and were ready to eat.
How long does it typically take them to double their hatching weight?
They still look really small and it's hard to tell how much...
I actually didn't realize they were really that young and small when I brought them home. Upon further research I estimate they were only a few days old when I took them home. The solid black is already starting to fade away on the sides on the one gecko and is developing some orange at the base...
I've had both geckos for exactly a week now. I'll call them bandit and stripe for now. They've taken to my hand taking fairy well. I haven't been pressuring them and let them go at their own pace
Today I put them on the scale and heres
Bandit 9g
Stripe 7g
Hey everyone, I have humid hides on the warm side where the ground temps reach 90-92f. However when I mist the paper towel with water it drops down to room temp and I find that it won't reach the desired temp until the towel is dried out. I'm using open faced rock caves as the hide? Maybe that's...
Hey everyone. I've just recently picked up a pair of baby geckos that have been getting acclimated to their new environment, have been eating and passing stool normally.
Today i noticed that one of them sometimes sleeps in a weird position with its butt in the air. Other times it's lays down...
Hey guys I picked up these 2 beauties today and snapped some pics while I set them in their new home. Would the 2nd gecko be considered a stripe too if its colouring is broken on one side?
I would say they are a few weeks old but I'm not too sure.
They are eating about 5-7 small crickets each...
Here's what my enclosure looked like before:
And what it looks like now after a few minor adjustments. Gecko is chilling in the cool hide peeking out! :)
