Also, unless you're breeding them just to keep, you're going to want to sell them. As with any other business maybe come up with a plan that will help you sell them. Finding venues and shows and stuff is a pretty time consuming thing sometimes. Also consider that most breeders have a website...
Mine used to bury himself all the time. I wasn't sure why, but once I increased his plant coverage he just sleeps behind the plants now. It might be that Gozer doesn't feel entirely comfortable in it's area yet. Have you just recently gotten him?
Yeah, I got really scared the first time I saw it, but he always pulls his eyes in really flat when he sleeps. During the night when they're awake however they are usually kinda bulgy looking.
It should be fine in the ten gallon for that little bit of time, I kept mine in a normal 10 gal for a month or so and he's perfectly fine. It's just that you wouldn't want to keep them in a situation like that for super long. I'm sure your crestie will love the new tank!
Neither one of those would probably be good because they seem to be full screen cages. Cresties need a moderately high level of humidity, and those tanks will let it dry out pretty fast. You might consider checking out the Zoomed, or Exo Terra line of tanks, they're tall, have front opening...
Yeah, I'm definitely curious about what types of fruits would be good snacks for them. I've tried feeding mine bananas that were mushed up but he didn't seem too interested in them. I've fed mine crickets but his staple "meat" is mealworms and he hasn't seemed to have any problem with it since...
^Also a quick update: The extra toe or w/e it is doesn't always jut out at an angle like that, I moved it out a bit to show more of what it looks like. Also it's not as dark anymore and has turned fully back to his skin color.
^ What about it is in bad shape? That's kinda why I was asking because I need to know if it will heal on it's own in a clean environment (which he is in now, paper towel substrate, exact temps, etc) or if I need to be applying anything to it?
Hey everyone,
While looking over my crested gecko I noticed that on his back right foot he had some stuck shed, I removed most of the shed with a q-tip and some warm water and that seemed to go fine.
But he also seems to have an area that looks like a quite large toe, or a swollen nub or...
^ Actually everyone was being pretty civil. You seem to have overreacted to what everyone has said. You are right, this forum is for people to share their interest for venomous snakes, but it's also their right to question the legality of other member's keeping habits.
A pinky pump probably isn't the best idea, those are usually for more urgent cases where they need nutrients right then. It's not best for getting something to naturally eat.
Another idea aside from the ones you've mentioned is to scent the pinkie with the sound of a lizard, usually an...
I personally keep a small water dish in the tank, as well as mist once a day. I've seen him drink from the dish but he also drinks the droplets from the mist. I'm not sure if it's required but it seems like a safe thing to do.
Today I received one of those magnetically hung mushroom ledges with the area for a food and water dish. I'm really excited to hang it up, it's outside drying in the sun right now!
Has anyone ever used these with success? They seemed like a neat thing to add to the tank. Hopefully it...
