A 40 gallon is kind of big for such a small gecko, but what you could do since that is all you have is just section off some so it makes it a little smaller. If its too big they will feel insecure having to come out and get food.

Hi and welcome! They are cuties, and both leopard geckos! I'm not too sure on their morphs, but I have one that looks just like the darker one, and he's a dark murpheys patternless. :)
The darker one does look smaller, are you housing them together?
If they already get along, that's great...
He is so crazy, he is more my brothers (but I watch over him more. He feeds him and cleans his cage :) ) but he's been dying to get a female for this guy. This picture was when he was only 6 months though:
