Alright. I was thinking about trying some grasshoppers from the local fields in the open space. It's state land so I can't imagine there would be pesticides around.
So I'm just curious, who here has fed wild insects without problems to their beardies? I understand it's a hot topic and most forums freak out with bad responses, but I'm curious if any of it has merit. One of my good friends has fed his beardie grasshoppers from the fields away from pesticides...
I'm curious; does anyone in the Colorado area work with Collared Lizards? I've been wanting to get one for the longest time now, but no one has them locally. I was originally going to catch one, but weather is obviously not permitting and I'd much rather support the captive industry. I'm looking...
Ok. It's interesting, most of the generic keepers who lack experience (ie pet store employees and forums) say that too large of a tank will kill them off, but the more experienced and knowledgeable people tell me it's fine and actually preferred so long as adequate cover is provided. I am...
Ok. I did a bit of research and sadly could find absolutely nothing... However I did turn up the fact that they (and king snakes) tend to be very curious and explorative, so in that sense a larger tank is actually better. I think I will try it and see what happens. He's been giving me some...
I know this isn't very specifically a snake forum, but I feel that the 15 gallon my baby Bull is in is too small. Do you think that a 55 gal is ok for him? He's about 23" in length.
Meet Riddick and Laura :D Not bad at all for Pet Co stock I'd say! Riddick looks to be a super harly, maybe tri harly, and Laura seems to have some partial pinning going on which is pretty sweet. They're about 3.65 (Riddick) and 4.8 (Laura) grams. Picked em up for only 25$ with the "reptile...
I caught these guys in a tunnel in eastern colorado, close to Westminster/Denver. I marked it in my field notes and then let them go, but I don't know whether they are eastern or western yellow bellied racers. Should I mark them C. constrictor mormon (western) or C. constrictor flaviventris...
