Last night the yolk detached. I took it out and replaced the bloody paper towels (I had put im in a container with moist paper towels in the incubator) and he did survive the night.
Ok so I made a HUGE mistake... my gecko egg was not hatching when I thought it would and I cut it open and the hatchling is small and has a big yolk sac. What do I do? Is the yolk sac also organs or just yolk? I'm such an idiot why did I do that??? I'll never forgive myself if he dies it will be...
Hey all! I made an incubator for my leopard gecko eggs and I had enough supplies left over to make another. I figured I could either sell it or use it for my cricket eggs.

But what is up with the red splotch in the egg? The egg candled fertile to begin with, and I get that the embryo could have defects that keep it from hatching, but I just don't know what that red spot is. The embryo is still there, just in a weird spot surrounded by some blood-like stuff.

The water was what got hot. And I'm so stupid. I totally forgot that I had put hot water in the bowl. As it let off heat, the incubator heated up. I let the heat out of the incubator, took out the bowl, and took the eggs out of my hovabator and put them back in this incubator. Now the temps are...
