Depends on the Leo it is common for them to be picky and randomly stop eating a certian insect but I have one who has done that and one that hasn’t so just depends on the lizard

Every gecko is different but the tend to be more flighty than defensive. They can be easy to lose if ur not careful

Everything in that kit is really good quality which is rare for the various kits but you will have to upgrade the tank to a 20 gal tall when they become an adult as this is the new recommended size this kit is perfect for hatchlings tho they are rarely on the ground so ur gecko isn’t gonna care...

with this size tank you would want to use zoo meds heat mat specified for 40 gallons

Ive used ceramic heat emitters in the past but now have a room that stays in the 80's so I only use a zoo med heat mat for 40 gal tank. Your tank is the equivalent of a 40 gal in floor space. Sorry for the delayed reply been kind of hectic

It sounds as if the gecko was super stressed about something. Keep the tank super clean and feed the gecko really well until the tail grows back

For me crested geckos have been easier to care for. However, as you are new to the hobby the swiftness of the babies may be a cause of concern. So I’d advise getting an adult gecko if you go with the crested gecko. The babies are manageable but it is a bit scary at times when they decide to jump...
