I went outside in rainy weather, and put a few worms in a container of mud. They were originally meant to be for my newts, but one newt wouldn't accept one so I fed it to my leopard gecko, Reico. He loved it! Has anyone tried feeding earthworms to their geckos? I'm not really sure which species...
Before I had my leopard gecko, he was lving on it for 5 years. I switched to newspaper as soon as I saw how Reico hadn't pooped for 3 weeks. Even after switching his substrate, his poop had sand in it for a couple weeks after. It also clung to his feet, so he had blue feet with a yellow body...
Whether it be newts, turtles, fish.... I'm just too curious!
I'll start with mine, housing 2 fire-belly newts.
I'm getting some floating horn-wort in 2 weeks to add to the look of it.
Just got 2 Chinese fire-belly newts from my reptile shop. I think they're juveniles because they're really small. I'll upload pictures of them/their setup in the next few weeks. They just had their first meal of bloodworms since moving in. :) Their names are Fred and George, LOL.
I feed my leopard gecko dusted crickets and mealworms. I have a herp/fish specialty shop I go to that sells dead canned crickets. Has anyone had success with dead food? Also, how often should his food be dusted with calcium?
Hey! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, school and whatnot, you know? Reico's doing well, but I just had to clear an impaction of his! He didn't poop for several weeks! I was able to clear it by force-feeding him a mixture of vegetable oil and water with a syringe, and by giving him warm baths...
I'm interested in becoming one of these or something like them. Any vets on here? I'm going into grade 10 and am prepared to take any sciences or maths needed in later grades. I've already logged 22 hours at a therapeutic animal sanctuary and will be volunteering at an animal shelter in grade 11.
I highly recommend this site if you want to see some really cool lizard colourations, breeds, etc.. There are thousands of gecko photos!
