That would be fine for like a baby leopard gecko. It is too small for a crested gecko in my opinion. I would still go with a larger terrarium so that money is not wasted in the long one. But if you want a tiny cage that will be useless in a while, it's your money and decision. That cage is a...
While you can better monitor the baby in a smaller cage, you can use a larger terrarium. If you think about it, the gecko will grow pretty large. If you buy the smaller one, what purpose will it serve once the gecko gets too big for it. Personally, I give as much space as I can. My leopards are...
It is virtually impossible to figure out genetics based on looks alone as there is always the possibilities for hidden gets such as eclipse, albino, etc., to be in the mix. It is a hypo based on looks, but I would definitely not breed it in the future because a) he is a rescue and b) you do not...
Real quick piece of advice I wish I knew when starting: ALWAYS gut load the mealworms for at least a day before feeding them to Lovey. This way the worms are not just hollow shells being fed to her but instead juicy little food items. The mealworms become far better. Also, varying her diet is...
Is the gecko an enigma? Enigma geckos have a mental deficiency that can cause them to act oddly. If he did not behave like this before, however, I see no reason it would sprout up now. He might not like the food that you are offering him. Try a different feeder insect or gut load the ones you...
What's odd is that male leopard geckos will do that to females when mating. The males can smell pheromones the females release during breeding season. Did you handle a female gecko before taking him out?
Hey so I went to handle my adult male leopard gecko, and got a nasty surprise. I noticed that he was keeping his eyes closed, so I went and gave him a gentle rinse. I found that he had what looked like a skin bubble on his eye. He has had a couple issues with stuck shed before, but he has not...
I wouldn't house multiple in the same terrarium. It is good he is eating. Might I recommend buying one from a breeder as opposed to a pet shop like petco or petsmart as they often get animals from awful places like reptile mills. Geckos Etc. Is a good website to look for geckos on. Hope this helps
I personally think it would be a bell albino. The breeder should have known the exact genes going into the gecko. If you got him from a large chain pet store like petco or petsmart, there may not be an exact morph. He looks healthy btw. Hope this helps
I would move the male so that the female does not become stressed and have to adjust to a new terrarium. This way she is familiar with the surrounding area and know where she is comfortable doing things. Hope this helps
My males have stopped eating for a little now and then. As long as he's not losing weight he should be good. Also, he might not like mealworms any more. My geckos for some unknown reason stopped liking crickets so I switched to mealworms. Hope this helps
