Ants

I recently acquired a Tokay Gecko, he is a male, about 1.2 years old and was captive bred.
The tank I got with him in had a major bug problem (the person before couldn’t care for him) and I cleaned the entire enclosure and his decor, however there are still ants, almost like piss ants, they seem to be from the wood structures. They don’t seem to bother my gecko very much but I don’t know if it’d be better to just throw the pieces of wood out and replace with new ones or let them be?

Thank you in advance!

If you can find an easy way to see if you can get rid of the ants it's definitely worth a try. I have problems every summer with carpenter ants that I know are getting in from outside. Usually they get into the cricket enclosures because they want all that nice grain. For some reason they were in individual gecko cages. They come and then they go. I've killed a lot of ants . . .
