Can someone tell me why he looks different

I got my gecko two weeks ago. The first picture is when I got him, the second picture is now.

What are you noticing that looks different? The pictures are taken from different angles. The only difference I can really see is that the tail looks thinner in the second picture, but that could just be the angle. Is the gecko eating? Pooping? Please be more specific about what you think is different.

Are you saying you think he's lost his vivid yellow color?

Just looks like he's about to shed to me. They get really ashy and pale right before!
