D3 overdose?

So I've been hearing about people not using calcium with d3 in a dish and only when dusting food because Leo's can overdose on the d3. What are the chances of this happening? Has anyone had this happen or know someone who has experienced this? What are everyone's opinions on this subject?

I think it's pretty unlikely. But I also think it's a good idea to use dishes without it. There is no reason to take a risk where it is not necessary, even if the chances of anything bad happening are really low.

I still haven't heard of a confirmed case of D3 overdose in a leopard gecko.

In fact, there are some keepers who leave entire dishes of supplement mix (including D3) in the enclosures at all times, mostly for juveniles and breeding females. Those keepers usually do not also dust with D3 though, so the intake is completely regulated by the gecko.

I dont dust anything. I use pill bottle tops and leave calcium in one and a multu vit in the other. I have 3 healthy fat geckos.
