I noticed a lump under my geckos tail about a week or two ago. It has since even growing and I don't know what it is or how much of a risk it poses for my little one. He is a leopard gecko, male, named Napoleon, and he is 7 years old. I am attaching a picture of the lump as I am looking for someone to help me identify what's going on. Please help!

Male leopard geckos often develop sperm plugs in their hemipenes (which is what those bulges are). Normally they expel them (it's essentially a little lump of whitish material that's dried out sperm) and it's not a problem, but sometimes a lot of it gets backed up. It's often possible to squeeze the bulge, evert the hemipenis and pull off the plug, but it looks as if you gecko has some huge ones and there could possibly be an infection. I highly recommend that you make an appointment very soon with a reptile vet to deal with it. After that, you may be able to maintain it by yourself.
