History of Zeros and Stingers?

I recently picked up an imported zero. Well it looks very much like a zero. What is the history of this morph? How cam you tell if the animal is not just an aberrant? Is there a marker that tells you if the trait is genetic? How is it inherited?

I dont know if i told you this when we spoke over the phone, but traditional Zeros tend to have like some burnt orange/browns colors along the sides along side the pattern. But there are banded zeros, and from what i have heard, that once the zero sibs breed (the one that prove out to have zero genes) tend to turn real dark brown and mocha color.
