How much should they be eating?

My crested gecko is about 6 weeks old now, it's my first crested gecko ever. He doesn't eat a lot at all. I have a tiny bowl in his enclosure and I do see him licking at it, but it doesn't look like he eats anything. Is that normal? He's currently on the Pangea with Insects diet that the breeder had him on, I was thinking of trying the other flavors they have.

When I got my first crested gecko, I didn't see signs that he was eating for months or more. He's 16 now. If you see your gecko licking its CGD that's a good sign and it's probably fine. I find that crested geckos love hunting crickets, so try that if you don't mind the crickets.

Well, that's good to know! I did try some small crickets, he had no interest, but I wonder if I try ones that are slightly larger. Just seems like they ate so little.

Sometimes they have to be taught to eat crickets. If you hold it and poke a cricket at its mouth, it may bite the cricket and discover it tastes good.
