I am trying to figure out what to try for my picky AFT. I have heard that dubia roaches can sometimes scare fatties for some reason and that they love lateralis roaches. So...what do you think?

lateralis
dubia
either is good

I've said it maybe 3 times now LOL. Lateralis will work very well, Dubia may or may not work. Your best bet is crickets.

I will say that lateralis roaches are much more closely related to german roaches and the other creepy roaches that live in your basements and scurry at a hundred miles an hour. Many a reptile keeper has had infestation scares with lats, where as dubias/discoids seem to be much less hardy in a typical home environment.

It just pays to be extra careful with lateralis colonies, is all! Make extra sure dogs and cats can't knock over the bins, add vaseline along the top, etc.
