Leopard Gecko ideal weight

Hello all

I've been reading a book Leopard Geckos, understanding and caring for your pet by Lance Jepson.

He advises to weigh the Gecko monthly to ensure its not under or over weight but does not give any measure of what weight a Leopard Gecko should be through out its development or sex.

Can any one please shed some light on this please?

My leopard Gecko is 5 months old and 39 grams.

It really depends on the gecko. I would say that in general an adult gecko (older than 9-12 months) should weigh at least 50 grams. On the other hand, if you have a gecko that seems well proportioned, without an unusually skinny tail, it's probably a reasonable weight. My adult geckos weigh between 40-115 grams.

Hi Aliza

Thanks for your reply. My Leopard Gecko looks fine to me so I will carry on as I am. I will keep in mind the weight guide you suggest.

I just want to ensure my Gecko is healthy. Thanks again.
