Lighting - suggestions and advice needed

I always find my worst enemy is lighting. Usually too little of it, colors are off, or too much from my auto flash making the photo over exposed. If someone could take the time and run some suggestions by me I would greatly appreciate it.

If you dont have a light box get a light box. I use n:vision daylight bulbs 40w. http://www.nvisioncfl.com/images/products/252-763_lg.jpg you can get them at Home Depot or Lowes.

I do have a light box. Although I need a new one. -cough- I accidently left mine outside lol it got rained on.

The problem I encountered with a light box with clip lamps and bulbs was, you have to remember that our geckos are nocturnal and do not much care for the light, especially albinos.
My albinos FREAK OUT in the lightbox.
I put mine in a light box occasionally, but I have an external flash that I bounce upwards so it makes the lighting even.
Then I do minor editing in GIMP.

Try taping a piece of paper or a coffee filter over your flash.:main_yes:
