Hey everyone!
I've been running a small home business for a couple years now and have been blessed with the opportunity to actually get a storefront in February. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!
The store will carry supplies and feeders for reptiles and inverts and once we have babies, we'll be selling them, also. Like alot of you, my animals are more than inventory, they are beloved members of my family. When babies are born, they're loved and handled and given the best care possible. Meticulous records are kept so anyone that purchases one of my babies knows exactly what that specific baby has done from the day it was born. (Feedings, sheds, voids, everything!)
I've been mulling through an idea for quite some time, and I'd like everyone's input, if you have time.
I only breed a few species of constrictor snakes and lizards. I was thinking, say, if someone comes in and wants a leopard gecko, but wants a certain morph or doesn't want to buy from a large chain for whatever reason, I would really love to be able to put that person in contact with reputable, ethical breeders that take pride in thier animals.
So I'd like to start a network for ethical breeders. I'm thinking of maybe a portfolio style book with everyone's business names, logos, contact info and what they specialize in.
I base everything on integrity and honesty and this is what keeps my customers coming back. I know I need to hash this out more, but I'd love to hear your views.
Thank you!
