Hi! This is my new, and first, leopard gecko! Her name is Raea (Ray-a) and I'm thinking she's a little younger than a year. I got her from a reputable, local pet store near my house. They take amazing care of their pets have really good prices. She loves to be handled and will cuddle and fall asleep on me as well. I actually have a few questions though.
1. She refuses to eat crickets, but seems healthy and happy eating mealworms everyday. They are coated in ReptiVite and she has a calcium dish I've seen her use. She gets about 7-10 each day. I've had her about a month and she seems happy and healthy this way. Should I do anything to get her to eat other insects?
2. I'm not actually sure if she is a girl. She has very faint pre-anal pores, but no bulges.
3. She's on tile, with a very fine grain sand filling in the cracks. I've never seen her consume any sand, is this setup ok?

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!:D

Welcome to GF and the world of geckos. The gecko and the setup look good. They will eat what they will eat (kind of like my kids when they were young). You could try offering her super worms. Maybe she'll like those.

She's a cutie! I never feed crickets, it's fine. Mine eats mostly mealworms and sometimes superworms.

That is very funny that she won't eat crickets. Never heard that before, most leopard geckos love crickets simply because they are something to chase and they are fun. But its not really a problem. Just interesting

Thanks everyone! She growing so fast XD. She is still active and has a favorite pooping spot now. I may try a couple crickets again and see if she will accept them. She's a voracious eater though. Loves to attack mealworms. I'll try superworms every now and then.
