hi, I am new to the forum, and about to get a leopard gecko, any advice before a leopard gecko with housing, and heating.

Welcome! My best advice is to google a bunch of care sheets and read them. The things that seem similar across care sheets are likely to be good advice and you can ask questions here about the things that seem to contradict (there's more than 1 way to do things so that's not surprising). The most essential elements are a large enough enclosure (considered to be at least 30"x12", or 20 gallon long size for an adult), an under tank heat mat and a thermostat to it doesn't get too hot.
