Not Paying Attention

I've been watching one of my female fat tails very carefully since she's about to lay eggs. I lost the first clutch because she laid them in the dry hide, so I'm checking her belly daily and weighing her so I don't miss anything. Last night I checked her belly and didn't see eggs anymore. I weighed her and she'd lost 3 grams, which is not really enough for eggs to have been laid. I just about dug up the whole tank, looking unsuccessfully for eggs, and only then realized that I'd been checking the male!

hahaha nice, it happens! There aren't any special kind of incubators for geckos are there - one used for snakes would be fine right (I can get the temps and everything just making sure for next year).

Yes, they look very similar. I usually check underneath, but I thought I had the right one.

Incubators: any incubator that will hold the temp steady in the 80-88 degree range will work for geckos.
