Rescued Crested Gecko - Eye Problem?

I recently adopted a Crested Gecko that was previously owned. I have little knowledge of its previous owner or life, but I do have the enclosure it came in which I am planning on cleaning out and starting fresh in a couple of days. However, there seems to be a problem with one of the gecko’s eyes. I’m not entirely sure what the problem is, but it is clear that there IS a problem. There also seems to be a white dot on the same eye. The other eye is normal. Any advice would be appreciated as this is my first Crestie and although I have done the necessary research I was not completely prepared for this!

You could make an appointment with a reptile vet just to be sure. On the other hand, my oldest crestie (who will be 17 in June) had a similar spot on his eye several years ago for a number of years. It has now disappeared (I just checked him to be sure), so you could just leave it and see what happens.
