RIP Lil' Guy

I woke up this morning to find that one of my favorite arachnids passed away. Creepy, my male Damon variegatus (Tailless Whip Scorpion, or "Giant Cave Spider"). I'll admit, I shed a few tears. :bigcry:

I'm guessing the cause of his demise was old age. He was fully grown (WC) when I got him about a year and a half ago, and only molted once in my care.

He was a cool little guy. I'll miss watching him climb around and stalking crickets. :(

Sorry for your loss Kristin!

I think the love of D. variegatus comes from the fact that they're so fascinating and strange.

"Antanae" that are really modified legs. They walk sideways. They molt hanging upside down. What's not to love about these oddball arachnids? :D

I'm a Kristal, or Kris, not a Kristin. :)
