I live in a 100+ year old house in upstate ny and will be getting a lot colder soon. My temperatures in the room where the gecko is dips below 70 degrees. His warm hid is at a consistent 85-90 with a uth and a thermostat. Would a ceramic heat emitter help/or be ok for when temperatures get lower in the room? Looking for any advice possible new to leopard geckos. Thank you in advance.

A CHE would be fine, but is only really necessary if the temp in the room drops below 65. Even then, you probably only want a low wattage one. Getting a room heater for a leopard gecko would be a waste of power.

What I do, and it seems to raise the ambient temp up by a couple degrees, is cover half the top of the viv with a thick blanket to retain more heat but still allow good air flow.
