Uk Heatwave - Should i turn off the heat mat?

Hello, with the current heatwave in the uk should i be turning off my geckos heat mat? and also any advice for keeping his cold side colder as its around 28c at the moment, any and all advice is greatly appreciated

I live in New England in the US with no AC. It isn't as hot here now as it is where you are (but getting close this week). There's nothing wrong with turning the heat mat off. I tend to keep it on because I have a lot of cages and don't want to have to worry about on and off. When the heat mat is on, the geckos just move over to the cool side. Even if the "cool" side is 28C, they will be fine. Even my cresties are fine in this weather.
