What the heck!?

So last night I had put about 20 mealies in a bowl in my skink tank and misted everything heavily but skipped over the bowl so they only got very lightly misted, you could barely see the mist droplets of water in the bowl.

Well 3 seconds later, they all starting freaking out, had what appeared to be a seizure...and DIED!!!!!

I was sitting there like...O_O what!?!?!?!?! They couldn't have possibly drowned..

Why...did that happen?

I know mealies and water don't mix, but I've never heard that misting kills them. I know like the second they hit water they start dying though...

Yeah, it doesn’t seem to matter how small of a drop hits the water bowl, they always die. I've saved some once by placing them in a paper towel and drying them though.

Yeah I saved like 5 that way..I was just like..gosh!!!

Do they actually drown?

That happened to me a couple times when misiting my ATF tank. I learned to take the bowl out, mist, then put the bowl back in,lol. Live and learn.
