    Mouth rot... What causes it?

My hypo carrot tailed LG has had one case of mouth rot in the past 3-4 years of owning her. I can see a bit of it coming back again and last time I took her to my local and well loved pet store and they removed it from her mouth. A little blood came but it went away and relieved enough pressure...

In need of help with my gecko

That is good to hear and I wouldn't worry about her presence she is a long term pet if cared for properly - and will likely warm up to you especially if you talk to her when around get cage and if you don't force her to hang with you when she seems to not want to :) good luck and enjoy her...

    My female HCTLG!

She had developed an eye infection that was the result of a couple sheds remaining in her eye and she was showing signs of mouth rot when I took her to my local reptile enthusiasts at a trust reptile store in Miami. I began to notice she was under the weather and had begun to not consume food...

In need of help with my gecko

Also be weary of calcium sand as it is the most common cause for death by impaction to leopard geckos and I'm sure other species in the same arena. It's better that they be on some sort of mat, even paper towels work and are easy to regularly change out. Believe it or not the leopard gecko will...

In need of help with my gecko

I agree with acpart. When I brought mine home she did not begin eating regularly for roughly a week give or take. I have also found that during their shed they may not be interested in food. In this case watery poo is a subsequent reaction because their diet for that time will likely be water...
