I have a Canon 30D with 3 lenses. I have the 18-55, 28-135 and a wide angle 10-22 which is a lot of fun :D

I also use tile for substrate in my tank and I put the UTH under the tank, just like you would with other substrates. The heat has no problems going through the glass and tile, my temperatures are fine :)

Did you use a flash in those pics? It doesn't look like you did. Try using the flash and see if you get the same results. If you do, then the white balance on the camera needs to be adjusted. Most cameras have an adjustment for that

Not sure but when my 10 month old gecko goes after a mealworm, she sometimes misses it too (even if it's not moving). I'm not sure if that's something to worry about or if it's normal. Her vision seems to be fine though
