It does look cute, but what he's actually doing is aiming his paratoid or toxin glands on the back of his neck towards his "attacker" Toads are slow movers so its easier to put a bad taste in the mouth of their attacker than to try to flee.
Lots of dusting, that little curl in Bones' top jaw is something I would watch closely.
They look much better! Buttercup has such pretty dark colors. I love Bones' smiley pattern on his head.
Congrats!
Congratulations on the beautiful new geckos! Glad to hear they are with you and are doing well.
Isnt it amazing how much will to live leopard geckos have? I've worked with other species of reptiles and havent found another one yet like leo's. My first leo was a very ill leo and I'll never...
Food. Associate your hands to food, and give it time. I usually start off by dropping mealies into the bowl from a short distance. Juvies are also very "energetic" compared to adults. As they grow they will calm down.
I also talk to my geckos, alot. New geckos usually get set up in my...
Wow. Thanks for sharing! Its a good preview into the other side of breeding reptiles. I have to say the lil extra toe guy, Spider, and the siamese twin patternless babies were actually pretty cute lol.
This wonderful guy is from Jess and Mike at Fallen Angel Geckos. When I had Cheeto out for some shoulder time tonite I decided to weigh him and take a couple of pics. He's 73 grams and just over 9 months old.
I love this pose
35.2g!! I even grabbed a scale weight to make sure my scale was working right. I was quite shocked. After I weighed her I took a few pics
She's quite a ham and enjoys coming out of her cage. She will however occasionally make me nervous by opening her mouth wide and putting it near/over one...
Lately when I take my youngest gecko out of her cage she will lick my hands as shes moving like normal but she'll open her mouth as wide as possible and position it over my finger. I don't feel intimidated and she's never even let her mouth touch my skin but I still have no idea what she is...
It sounds like your leo has an eye infection. If it were me, I would be taking her to the vet as soon as possible. The vet will be able to clean out her eye a bit and give you antibiotics or other meds for her.
Hubby got creative a while back and has been building me an enclosure for leo's. He used a 20g long and used styrofoam, grout and sealer to create it.
But there is a downfall. There is a tunnel that runs from side to side behind the "rocks." Once it was heated up to the right temp my smallest...
Your willing to learn, and thats whats important.
I would put in some sort of a divider until the younger is large enough to join the other, as long as the sexes are compatible. You would have to get another heating pad, but even if they are compatible two warm spots are never bad. I would...
I have to say if I've ever had a real bonding moment with any of my leo's it was my first, Lennie. When I got her she was ill. She had severe eye caps in both eyes and according to her previous keeper hadn't eaten in over 3 months. It took me hours to do, but I still can't describe the feeling...
