My leo greedo bit me by accident once, completely my fault I such a prat:main_rolleyes: , I held a locust for her to eat and she got my thumb. I was more worried about Greedos jaw! It was daft, i havent done it since. It felt just gummy, but the jaws were strong. She was about a year old so...
Cute!!! The unusual markings make them unique!!! When my leo was young and still had bands of colour, one dark band had a large heart shape, right across her back, its faded now but was so cute. Can not get my pics of Greedo on though dammit, its a shame as I have some great ones :(
Thanks Aliza, from what Ive read and heard I thought they just layed infertile eggs anyway. One less thing to worry about! ( Im a bit nuerotic when it comes to my gecko!!) xx
Ive looked a bit on the internet about this but its nearly all about the breeding of geckos, and I am not going to breed my gecko.
When does a leopard gecko first produce infertile eggs? Greedo has never been in contact with a male and never will, but she will eventually lay some infertile...
How old is "he?" If its a very young gecko you wont be able to tell, I think it was about 6 months till we could confirm Greedo was female, so we picked a unisex name!
You are right that females dont have the two bulges above there opening, and males do, also males have a definate "V" pattern...
My gecko is on bark, the peices are over 1cm big so no risk of ingestion. Its probably frowned upon but it has caused no problems. I have a small patch of sand where she poos as it dries up the poo on contact, so if Im in work all day its not going to be spread around by a locust walking on it...
I dont know if you have already tried this, but my leo Greedo only really likes locusts, they are brighter coloured than the crickets and mealworms so they stand out a bit more and may grab Optimus's attention.
Also they dont burrow like crickets so less work for Optimus.
A red bulb can also...
Intresting point, as you say it could be that she likes us being nearby again as she is becoming accustomed to her new place!
The first day we put her in she ran straight to her old hide (which we put in the same corner to give her something familiar). Then eventually she began exploring, with...
Feeding my gecko Greedo up until about 8 months ago was great fun, she would put on a real show, we would watch her tail flip around, her eyes narrow and watch her pounce.
It also helped watching her as it gave us a good idea how much she needed to eat and when she was full.
Then about 8...
