Make sure the tank isn't above 85 degrees (hot area). Being too hot can hinder proper shedding. Maybe a bath can help. Hopefully, it'll clear up. Good luck!
You can try warm baths. I used oxbow critical care (carnivore) when my leopard gecko was ill and made a slurry out of it. I used a small feeding syringe as well. He's been well ever since. I almost thought I'd lose him, but the oxbow really helped him get the nutrition he needed. I've tried...
Just checking on this post to see if your leo's eye improved? I did the above to get him well (bathing him in chlorhexidine and using silver on his eye) and lowering the temp in the tank helped him to get better. Eventually, the eye healed on its own. Hopefully things have gotten better for...
It's hard to see with pictures, but could it be that the tank might be too hot? I decreased the temperature after realizing it was more damaging than good. So I would have the tank no hotter than 90F. One of my leopard geckos had problems with his eyelids too. I had to feed him a slurry...
I tried feeding Dubia roaches to my 3 geckos and none of them would eat them. My geckos mainly eat superworms. My bf was breeding Dubias for his bearded dragon. And when the Dubias would have babies, I would try to feed them to my geckos. Unfortunately, I gave up trying since worms would get...
Hi,
I use Chlorhexidine solution 2% which is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal non-toxic cleaner. You can get this on amazon. It's to treat wounds. I've used it for mouth rot and cleaning the tanks and I also spray a little in bath water so it's diluted and safe enough for the geckos. Try googling...
My gecko had an eye issue in the past due to the tank being too hot. I believe anything over 90F is too hot. I usually have it at 85F and my 3 geckos have been fine. They're about 6 yrs old now. I'm not sure how hot your tank gets or if that could be the problem. I found it was a shedding...
I have both long (2 geckos but separated by foam board) and a tall terrarium/enclosure. Geckos can climb and I use a coconut that hangs for his house (actually for birds) and he uses the ladder to go home just fine. He's quite an acrobat and doesn't have any problems going up and down. They...
I have 3 male leopard geckos with healthy appetites that have been with me for about 6 years. They all live alone in separate enclosures. I don't think mating is the problem. Maybe it's the temperature in the tank? Make sure there's a heating pad underneath, so he is able to digest well...
