Yay! Looks like I can swing getting a proportional thermostat after all! I'm not sure if the Helix or Herpstat would be best... Helix is little more pricey but somehow strikes me as nicer than the herpstat 1 but then I've never used either... Opinions please?

You might try boosting the humidity in the room itself by leaving out a bowl or panful of hot water. I did this once or twice...left it on the floor next to the gecko cages and it helped with an easier shed.
Also, you might try "shedding aid" which really helps...
I've used Herpcare...
I have my hova set up with a thermostat (inferior model...I have to save for a proportional one) and I put a water bottle in last night to help stabilize temps and it was much better than the night before. I have a nice little digital thermometer/hygrometer that shows min/max temps in there...
I300 from My Weigh..
Thanks for the tips and advice! I ended up swinging a little more money to get a My Weigh 1300 from Reptile Basics and I'm already loving it! Highly recommend. Someone here suggested this scale, not sure who...thank you!!!! Great scale.

Excellent! Thanks for the responses! I'll probably go for 86. Dad has very pretty colors and mom stays consistently light so I think I have a good chance for nice babies. Can't wait for my first gecko hatchlings! Yay!

Well, I was originally planning on incubating for female but have been leaning away from the so-called tremper method (low temp for female then high temp for color) since reading stuff on this forum. But, I'd rather not hatch out choc. colored babies. So I thought maybe going slightly towards...
Hope it's okay to post a new thread, I've been browsing the forum but still wanted to clarify a couple things...
I'm thinking of incubating my girl's eggs at 86; just wondering how the colors for albino tend to turn out at that temp..? Isn't it 85 or lower that tends to give the darker...
Actually I just looked at another ad for a scale (ebay) that said it had 0.2 oz / 10 gram sensitivity... Thought 0.2 was closer to 6 grams..not really sure! Anyway, could someone tell me if that's what I'd want?
Thanks very much!

Is a postal scale that has a 0.2 oz. sensitivity alright for working with leos? I checked an online calculator and 0.2 oz = about 6 grams.. Is that sensitive enough? This scale type does weigh in grams btw.. But I was confused about the sensitivity. Never bought this type of scale before...
