Mr. Leopard gecko
I owned 2 leopard geckos in my life. I was supposed to get an aquatic turtle but as a stupid, dumb 10 year old I didn't know the tanks would have to be huge. But we came all the way to upstate NY so I wasn't going to leave without a pet, so I bought a leopard gecko. Luckily I did some research about fat-tailed and leopard geckos for my school project so I knew the basics. Unfortunately as a stupid, dumb 10 year old, I kept on forgetting to sprinkle in calcium. My poor Leopard gecko was very unfortunately hit with BMD. I had to feed him this medicine every day. But then... I wish I could forget about this and delete this memory. Every time I walked through the upstairs corridors I keep on remembering it. This is what happened: I had my gecko for about almost 5 or 6 months? And when I was washing his tank, he had escaped his bin. I didn't know that he escaped and I was just coming back from the bathroom I was washing the bowl in.......... I stepped on him. I won't provide the exact details but something had exploded. I rushed him to the tank and my family crowded around and watched in horror as his breathing slowed down. This lesson meant a lot to me. After about 2 days of shock I came to a conclusion to make up for my mistake I would buy another gecko and take amazing care of him. So I bought one and named him Kiwi. I still have him and took care of him for 2 years so far, but two things I do that was different from how I took care of my old gecko is, Feed my Kiwi calcium, and clean his tank with him inside it.
RIP Oreo
