Yeah they do the funniest things sometimes lol. In that case I would try either putting a second ledge for food or trying to put the food elsewhere.

I use Zilla's Lizard Litter Terrarium Moss. The exact one I use is Beaked Moss. Oh and just a correction to my previous post; its not artificial, but is completely safe.

No problem. I dont see why you wouldnt be able to use the same hide. And you are correct again, UVB isnt neccesary considering they are nocturnal.
