Good show, some good deals to be found. I am sure there were some better deals towards the last hour of the show....but I did not stay that long as I would be tempted to buy everything with the deals that must have been tossed around:main_laugh:

still no improvements on eating pattern or amount eaten. I am making room in the laundry room and move them from the garage to see if that will help.....worried the cat will be curious and harass the dubias :main_evilgrin:

the tub temp is about 89 degrees now sitting in the garage.....I hate to have to bring it inside..........I might just have to...............
but still no big improvement in the dubias' appetite for their food that I hear from...
Yeah, the garage is cold, so instead of placing the heat tape on the back side of the tub, I now have it on the entire tub, floor temp of tub is about 87 degrees. I have seen some more activity of the roaches, but the food pile is still there.
All these stories of simple and eat anything...
I have not seen my roaches eat much, food pile seems to be the same level....but have not noticed any dead. I am only guessing that I have to increase the temp.....which I have. Its currently in the garage and its a little cold in there....about 55 degrees. Tub temp is about 85 degrees...
This batch of roaches (dubias) don't seem to care much for the cat/dog food that I have tossed in the tub for them.
i thought it was warm enough....but guess not, so I have a heat tape under the tub now and set at 90 degrees. Also threw in some cricket feed (powdered stuff) on top of the...
I use Sunshine Mealworms for my crickets, mealworms, and supers. They have excellent customer service and have had no problems with the feeders coming from them.
i've tried several different suppliers but NONE comes close to Sunshine with regards to quality of feeders and customer service...
When you say "blend" do you mean mix both cat and dog food together......and or dog and cat food together in the blender for a quick swirl to break it up a little before tossing it in for the dubias.
Well, I just received my first batch of dubias. I ordered 8 large pairs and 500 smalls. I'll give them a couple of days to settle in before separating the adults from the little ones. I think I have about a month to go before feeding the dubias to my leos, and a few more months for the adults...
I say.....toss them out in the yard. I did so several weeks ago of some crickets prior to receiving my next shipment. I still hear them out there in the yard in the evening. Guess the crickets enjoy the grass and still doing good.
Keep in mind that once you toss them outside, do not try...
If the mealworms aren't eaten by the next morning, I toss them back into the feed cup for the worms to gutload again and then toss them in on the next feeding. Otherwise, sometime I just toss them out and feed them new mealworms next time.
Do what I do.........hold out on food for several days (assuming that your leo has a good fat reserve on its tail).......he/she will take on any live food wiggling in front of them.
That is how I switched my leos over to mealworms. I only had half my leos eat mealworms, I simply held out...
