She can be up on her feet, but I notice she's a big sluggish. Her belly does seem to touch the floor as she walks sometimes, so I think a vet visit is in order. In the meantime, I will try the butterworms and see if I can get my hands on some silkworms. Thank you so much for the reply!
Hi Aliza,
(I hope I did this reply correctly!)
Just an update - maybe you can provide some experienced insight. I've been offering her more calcium-dusted wax worms over the last 2 weeks, and she's been readily gobbling them up! Since she's lost a bit of weight, I'm trying to plump her back...
Hi Everyone,
Has anyone had a bad experience with butterworms as feeders for leopard geckos? I read a few terrifying posts on blogs about butterworms producing sticky fluid, causing harm to geckos. I just got some from a local bait shop (first time buying 'em), and there seemed to be clumps of...
Thank you! I got her some wax worms yesterday to see if she'd take them - she ate 3! She hasn't had much of an appetite, so I'm happy about this. I read that MBD can be reversed if it's in its very early stages, so hopefully if it IS in fact MBD, I'll be able to strengthen her with some at-home...
Hi Everyone,
I have an 8yr old female leopard gecko who has recently been showing signs of metabolic bone disease. Her back seems to curve a bit when she lays down/walks & one of her back legs seems to drag as she walks. She's been very lethargic for weeks now & hasn't been eating much. Last...
Thank you so much for the reply, and so sorry for the delayed response! I've gotta get on here more - it's such an awesome platform for sharing information and ideas. =)
Hi, All! I've got a beautiful female leopard gecko (born June 2011, and I've had her ever since) who has just done something I've never seen her do before. Last night, she retreated into her humid hide (damp paper towels in a tupperware with a cut-out entrance/exit) & was still there this AM...
Thanks for the info, Frank! I'm just gonna cut down on feeding a bit, in hopes that my mollies will start eating the insects. That better work - I gotta change the filters soon, and I'm not really looking forward to putting my hands in bug-filled water lol
Thanks again!
Hmm... that being said, lol, maybe you can help me. I'm having a bit of an issue with insects in my tank...
I've had my 20 gallon tank for almost 10 years now and have had pretty much the same fish. My mollies reproduce like crazy, which is becoming a bit of an issue, but that's not even my...
Yeah, garters were another option for me. I've never really been big into snakes... As a kid, my stepdad always kept huge ones, but I couldn't bear the sight of the them eating live mice. I was also always afraid they'd escape & strangle me in my sleep, lol! As an adult, I became a fish and...
