Your set up sounds good! I had my gecko in a 10 gal for about a year. She did really well in the 10 gal. I'm sure she could've happily stayed in it. I've updated to a 20 gal. Much more fun to decorate! I don't think it matters much where you put the humid hide. Mine is in the middle of my tank...

She looks like a blizzard, right? I've heard recently some blizzard morphs can have issues with aggression. I had one years ago that was aggressive as well. I'd only had her a little under 6 months before I decided to give her to someone a bit more experienced.

My gecko got stuck on the carpet too! First time I've ever seen that happen with the reptile carpet. I thought I maybe got a bad one.. Tile does seem like a nice choice. If you don't mind the look, paper towels work great.
