Neither, when it is dark out, their pupil's expand allowing more light in so they can see better in the dark. When it's in the day, they contract because there is too much light. Funny little experiment you can do is go in the bathroom turn on the light then look at your eyes in the mirror...
King mealworms are given hormones that stop them from pupating, or if they do pupate they wont reproduce, Because the hormonrs messed them up internally.
Thanks for the replys. The smaller pupa has just turned into a beetle and its still brown, so I think it molted a couple hours ago. Now I have to wait for the other one to turn into a beetle. So then my colony will start to begin, if they are male and female....
So, 3 days ago i got 500 mealies to start my colony. But a week before i found a pupa. Now today while feeding my leopard gecko, my sister picks up the repti carpet in the corner and to my suprisee i find another pupa. But this one is bigger. The smaller one is like half its size. Im confused...
