What about a Discord server for the forum, or partnering with another? (My friend runs one for all animals, not just geckos, that has about 50 peeps atm)
First shed at our new house was a success! I checked about 44 hours or so after I noticed he was starting, did not see any stuck shed on his toes, tail, or head, or anywhere for that matter. He also ate 4 medium mealworms and 6 small dubia roaches. I would say he's fairing pretty well and healthy.
Every couple days I get the substrate wet (coconut fiber); following the shops advice for how they did it themselves; and every day I'll do a light misting of the top layer to keep it a bit damp, including misting the moss that's in his humid hide.
Chomper is going through his first shedding at his new place with us as of tonight, saw a peek of him with lighter colored skin today. He is 4.5 months old, and still has all his toes, so I'm assuming the store would help with the shedding if needed, but he still seems skittish around me even...
We keep the AC at 74 during the day, and 67 at night. According to the thermometer I have just above the substrate on the cool side, it's averaging 66-70.
This is in the Summer, in the Winter it will get colder.
I have since removed that red light, this video was made like 3-4 days ago. Waiting on my next paycheck to get a CHE bulb instead.
Chomper has been very much refusing to come out of his humid hide for multiple days on end it seems, even around feeding time (10-10:30 PM seems like the time he's...
Yea, he seems to be fine now, he ate a dubia yesterday (first one offered). I plan on some Mealworms today since I got a container of 100 of them to last a while.
EDIT: As of tomorrow it will be 1 full week that Chomper has been in his new home. He's barely eaten this whole week. I understand...
Thanks. :D He's still settling in, and being pretty picky about food. Mealworms worked first day he ate, and now dubia's aren't interesting him. (Small local) Shop said they used crickets for all their geckos, but they're a bit too noisy (and smelly?) for me, since the only place he can be is in...
Hello fellow Gecko lovers! A couple days ago I got my first reptile, a Leopard Gecko that I've named Chomper. He's about 4 months old, according to the private breeder I got him from.
I hope to learn a bunch here, in addition to the Animal discord my friend runs to get as much help as I can...
