    Hi all (again)

So uhm... Hi! again... :) I joined this forum 8 years ago and never have been really active. I joined back then after purchasing my first leo who I unfortunately found dead in his cage about a year later. After that event a lot of serious stuff happened in my life and keeping leo's was not a...

    red stripe gene

Those really are some nice animals :) I think I'm starting to understand the stripes, in theory that is. Theory is one thing, actual breeding another... Thanks for sharing your experience and clearing up some things, now I even like those stripes more :main_yes: -Jonathan

    red stripe gene

So theoretically speaking you could 'create' your own eclipse gene without any albino influences by breeding patternless stripes together? Also, everything I've read about stripes applies to the redstripes then? With the only difference being the (line bred) colour? Exactly what I just did :)

    red stripe gene

Thanks for your input Jeremy, have you ever experienced red stripes acting recessive even though it's line bred?

    red stripe gene

I hope Jeremy, Dan and Paul will input some of their findings here. I'm really interested in the red stripe genetics but since I read the mixed up outcomes of stripe projects I got really confused. Some say it's recessive, the next says it's polygenetic and others say they're polygenetic but...

I'm still learning morphs as well, this is just a geuss and you shouldn't just assume it's right :p but could it be a snow of some kind? What are the parents? It's a beauty.

    red stripe gene

I've read a lot about this, some say this, some say that. I'm really confused now, is it recessive or polygenetic? And what exactly happens if it's poly and you breed a redstripe to a normal? Cheers

    Lighting in racks

Me as well, I work nightshifts... :) I thought they would need a night/day rhythm(is this spelled right?) in order to thrive.

    Lighting in racks

I've been reading a lot about racks, now what I'm wondering about, how does everyone take care of the lighting in their racks? Do you use natural light (the sun), or the light of the entire room? Maybe a lamp for every tub? Or a fluorescent lamp along the back of the rack? These are the...

    Snake eyes?

I think you might be misinterpreting snake eyes, a leos pupil is always vertical. I'm adding an example of snake eyes, the picture was originally posted by Nigel4less. Nigel, I hope you don't mind and it's a really nice animal by the way :)

    Breeders and location sticky?

I think it's a very good idea, and let's make it international as wel :D So far I found 1 breeder in Belgium... (and 1 in the Netherlands, but being Belgian, I prefer closer to home)
