    reptster switching to UPS :-)

I'm not sure what to tell you; other than we're all waiting to see what happens. I hope things turn around soon or it will just continue to sink and unfortunately let down many people who wanted and some who needed it.

    Incubation Medium Poll:

We used perlite this year being our first with a few clutches. Everything hatched great and no complaints.

    reptster switching to UPS :-)

I thought I should post here considering Reptster has received quite a few potential users wanting to ship various geckos/lizards within the past week. Rather than addressing you one by one via your emails and PM's daily; I feel this forum deserves an explanation. Many expecting to ship geckos...

    built new rack *pics*

The $120-$125 I posted was just the rack materials ($98.00 w/tax and cut) and the heat tape (about $25.00). I had all screws, wire, and tubs already and had a few extra Helix DBS1000's laying around.

I built one similar and total cost with heat and all came out to about $120-$125. Much cheaper on a per tub comparison Vs what you get buying pre-made/shipped.

If you're asking me, 6qt tubs for hatchlings, 12qt tubs for single adults and 28qt tubs during breeding.

    DIY XPVC Incubator

Thanks, I hope to get one done and dry-tested around X-mas before next years clutches start dropping. I'm leaning more toward the taller one which will be kept at 89F 24/7. Still considering and working on a few details such as weather stripping around the door for an airtight seal. I'm looking...

    DIY XPVC Incubator

I'm guessing those would incubate roughly 400+ Leo clutches...:main_laugh: Might be a little overkill for some. You might be better off building two small ones to maintain separate temps for males and females. Let me know what you guys think?

    More racks...

For those of you who were interested in working with PVC sheets and DIY projects. I'll be trying a DIY incubator project around December in case you all are interested or thought of building your own incubator. http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?p=256611#post256611 I'll keep you posted...

    DIY XPVC Incubator

I was killing time today and started thinking about incubator designs, measurements, set ups and costs. Here are two rough designs and estimated I'm considering and sketched out poorly in a few minutes before I headed out of work today... One holds roughly 20/12-15qt tubs as egg-boxes...

    More racks...

Two sheets will be enough for either 28/12qt tubs or 14/32qt tubs or a mixture of the two depending how you set it up. The problem is, 12qt and 32qt tubs may vary. 12qt and 28qt are the same height and size to fit well on the same shelf, 15qt and 32qt tubs are the same.

    More racks...

Now you can build yourself a 12qt or 15qt = 14 tubs rack or a 7/28qt or 32qt rack for $93-$100, or any rack to hold a number of tubs. Add heat for $25-$30 and you're set..:main_thumbsup: Spend that $$$ you saved on more Geckos...:D
