Advice on leopard gecko shedding

Hi, need some advice on my leopard gecko, I’ve had him for about a month and he she’d just before I got him and has had a shed 2 weeks ago, obv know that they will go pale, then white then shed but is it normal for them to go pale then almost back to normal colour before actually shedding?

attaching pic of him when I got home this morning/noticed him going paler yesterday but since this morning he’s got more colour?
Been pooping normal, no changes to viv, eating well

This was him the same day about three hours later, hadn’t shed but no idea why he was almost gray before, no change to diet and temps all good, he was splooted out on his heat mat in the first pic so maybe needed to warm up?

Any chance he shed during those 3 hours when you weren't looking?
