I'm having trouble getting a black baby corn snake to eat at work. We have tried frozen/thawed pinkies (We even tried cutting it into smaller pieces (This guy is sooo small)) and will try live as a last resort. All temps are fine, etc.

Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks!

When did you get it? Has it been pooping? How old is it approx.?
Maybe try leaving it alone while it eats (they like privacy sometimes)
Try force feeding as a last resort. Sometimes snakes need to be force fed once
to get going after that usually the get the picture
Best of luck

We put the hatchling in a deli cup with a f/t pinky and cover the container with a small towel. If they don't take it within several hours, we try again in a few days. This eventually works for most. Sometimes they just aren't hungry enough to eat on a human's schedule. If we assist feed it's a last resort and isn't for long, some just fail to thrive.

I've known people who think a snake should just take the shoved in offering right off the tong or it isn't eating. Some are easy feeders and some aren't. It doesn't necessarily mean they aren't eating, rather we need to learn some new ways to care for our animals :)
