I have a pretty small breeding operation and was wondering what thermostat would be best for a hovabator. I want something cheap but effective. Thanks to any response.
You want a proportional thermostat, in order to keep the temperature steady. I recommend the Herpstat 1 Basic. It is $100+, but believe me, it is worth very penny! Just remember to crank your thermostat on the hovabator all the way up, so it stays on.
Herpstat is what I use. IMO hands down awesome. I've also heard great things about Helix but haven't used them personally so can't say which is better. You definitely want a proportional one for an incubator and I don't know that you'll find one cheaper than the $100 the basic herpstats go for.
