Would a 1:2 trio be good for breeding? I plan on housing them in a cage thats about 26"x30". Its got more surface area than a 40 breeder. If I kept them in the cage all year would the male stress the females out too much. I would provide enough hides. Also would they breed well this way? I was told by some that they wouldnt breed because the male wouldnt be as "excited" to mate and so mating may not happen. Also I would provide a day/night cycle to imitate changing of seasons.

I think it will be fine. I have one male housed all year round with a female a(and also a 1.1 AFT pair. The male loses interest around mid-July, doesn't bother her during the winter and is ready to go again in the spring.
