cleaning eggs?

ok so i use peat moss as an egg laying medium. and the eggs get covered in it. how do i "clean" the egg safely so i can candle it?

You don't. Honestly, I would not bother candeling eggs until you are having issues with them going bad, and need to know. If you've bred your geckos, and the eggs look normal, just put them in the incubator. The best eggs are eggs NOT MESSED with
