I am interested in setting up a a vivarium for a corn snake, though I wanted to give it a more natural feel. I wanted to use a mixture of fir bark & forest moss as the substrate (made by Exo-Terra). Some say bark is fine, others say not. Which is true? Some say fir bark produces oils or aromas which are not good for animals & plants? But if that is so how could sensitive plants such as orchids, bromeilaids & mosses thrive in this medium? Thanks for the help!
