Disappearing Underbite

While feeding and spot cleaning enclosures tonight I noticed that Enigma, my pet store gecko, seems to be growing out of his/her underbite. :)

Pic with underbite can be found here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v725/cryptly/Geckos/Picture106.jpg I'll try to get an updated pic tomorrow (if I can get the little wiggle-worm to hold still!).

Since Enigma seems to be growing out of the underbite, would that mean that it was originally cause by a lack of calcium before I got him/her? Or is it just an odd "childhood" problem that's being grown out of?

Either way, I'm just glad to see it seems to be correcting itself. :D

I have seen overbites/underbites develop and disappear. I'm not so sure it's a calcium deficiency, but it could be congenital or simply an irregular bone growth. Currently, I have 3 female geckos (two are on breeding loan) with overbites, and have yet to see it in any of their offspring. My male Mack Super Snow had a serious underbite, but it developed later as he matured and I know he had plenty of calcium supplementation.
